When you have an emergency or crisis
In urgent child protection matters, call the child protection emergency service on 044 482 8200 on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. The social emergency service provides urgent and necessary assistance to the 24-hour social welfare service. Akuutti24’s social emergency services are available daily from 8 am to 4 pm, tel. +358 44 482 8201. At other times, the social emergency services can be contacted via the emergency number 112.

If you are a new client, first contact social welfare counseling and client guidance.
If you are already a customer of social services, contact your own unit and your own employee there as a matter of priority.
Applying for social services
Families with children, the working age and the disabled
Call the Social Welfare Guidance and Counseling Service on 03 819 4850 on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. You can also chat in our client service chat on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Immigrants
Call the Social Welfare Guidance and Counseling Service on 03 819 4850 on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. You can also take care of your matters at Lahti Social Services Centre (Grand) at Vapaudenkatu 23 A, 4th floor. The Lahti Social Services Centre is open Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 3.30 pm and on Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm.
The elderly
Call the client service for the elderly on 044 482 5050 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm or on Wednesdays from 9 am to 4 pm.
Child custody and visits, maintenance allowance and paternity matters
Call family legal services on 044 482 0341 Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. You can also book an appointment electronically in the hyvis.fi service.
Mental health and family counseling services for minors
Call on weekdays from 12 noon to 2 pm on 03 818 3700. You can also apply as a client in the hyvis.fi service.
Home service for families with children
Call on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 am to 12 noon, tel. +358 44 780 1163. You can also apply for home service through the hyvis.fi service.
When you are already a customer
Dealings take place through an appointment. Call your own counselor. If you do not know the contact details of your counselor person and you are under the age of 65, call the Social Welfare Guidance and Counseling Service on 03 819 4850 on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. If you have reached the age of 65, call the Customer Care Centre for the Elderly on 044 482 5050 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm or on Wednesdays from 9 am to 4 pm.
